Students from the fashion design department of Raffles Design Institute conducted a fashion exhibition where they showcased a sneak peek of the life of designers.
The exhibition showcased all the clothes that the fashion design students has made for their final graduation project and also the clothes that are still in the process of making (using raw materials; muslin fabric).
All the clothes displayed were extravagance and eye-catching! The design students used a lot of detailing, unique pattern cutting and splash of bright colours to make all the designs popping.
From this exhibition, I learned a lot of things about colour mix-matching and styling. I realised one main thing; sometimes by having distinctive cutting, a simple colour dress could look extravagance, while a dress with a lot of colours or pattern could look simple because the cutting is just usual.
Most of the design students also played around with colours, pattern and texture which made me realised that those elements could make such a big difference to the whole look of an outfit.
I will definitely try to mix and match pieces from my wardrobe and play around with colour, pattern and texture to have a more daring look that could make my look stand out from the others.
