About
The Conscious Festival by Green Is The New Black is an almost zero waste and vegan event where fun and sustainability go hand in hand. The event took place at South Beach (26 Beach Road) on 2-3 November 2019. The Conscious Festival aims to be a platform that encourage people to make better decisions about the way they live by taking small steps to a more sustainable lifestyle.
The festival will be a marketplace that features conscious local and international brands and inspiring talkshows by experts who work hard to make changes in their industries. The event is free entry but tickets to sustainable talkshow is available for people who want to understand more about sustainability. #LiveMoreConsciously #LittleGreenSteps
Preparation
International Fashion Business students from Raffles Design Institute collaborate with Green Is The New Black by doing a few installations for the event.
The first installation was the "NO WASTE" poster that we design. The NO WASTE poster includes a few editorial pictures that we shot, showing fashion sustainability that encourage people to be more conscious on their lifestyle; using less plastic, recycle used clothes, etc.
The second installation was the hanging posters. We display our final project posters which are all sustainable brands; from womenswear, accessories to lifestyle products. The posters were attached to a rope that was tied to the trees, so the posters were hanging between the trees.
Event Day
As mentioned, Green Is The New Black features a lot of vegan and sustainable small brands. This event is definitely a huge opportunity for these brands to gain customer awareness and for people to know about the brand.
These brands offers different kind of things from food & beverages, apparel and lifestyle products (bed sheet, soap, etc). Each one of the brand have their own unique brand story and it was so inspiring to see all these beautiful products, especially knowing these brands support sustainability.
For me, the event was amazing! Everyone were so friendly and enthusiast on supporting sustainability; encouraging people to do no waste practice in their daily life. I would definitely love to visit next year's Green Is The new Black event!☺
